Finally!

So this is what I was up to early this morning. I organized the spice cabinet(so much better than it was) and put up these shower bars after I found this idea on Pinterest. 2015 is starting off with a bang and I am so ready. I feel like this is going to be such a BIG year for me. No more waiting to get our home to make a home. I'm making a home here. I know that sounds like a "duh" statement, but we never really planned on being here for more than a year or two. So I put off projects I wanted to do for once we got settled down in our own home. I'm releasing that dream for right now and just trusting that it WILL happen when it is meant to. For now, I'm about to get my Sarah Richardson on and do this place up! This year will have home decorating, organizing, I will hang up art and family photos and shelves, we will host dinner parties, eek every single inch of usable space in this 700sqft of living space and make it our best year yet! Now to let Big Daddy and Papa in on the plans, I need some things built! Happy Happy beginnings in 2015

Misadventures in Parenthood:

     That moment when you rediscover that children seriously do not need toys. I pulled out the Easter stuff(looking for filler) and left it on the dining table. Bearcat found it and started playing with the empty plastic eggs this morning. He has done everything from counting all the whole eggs, counting halves, sorted them by color, sorted them by shape(some are little animal shapes), played with the animal shapes, etc... Makes me more determined to have dedicated no electronics days(for the both of us). Amazing what imagination does in the hands of a little person.

     33. I made it. Only two more years to go until I am "middle aged". Ha! Well, it's looking good on me.(secretly I am praying my hair goes completely silver/white soon!) I am incredibly blessed for my years here. Just a little over three decades. DECADES. Oye. I wanted to come out with some awesome deep post steeped in wisdom and whatever, but this is what I've got for this morning. I'm blessed. End of story. I'm blessed in my comings and goings. I have favor. FAVOR. I am honestly so blessed to have been there for people and to have been used in a way that brings JOY and LOVE to others. I am THANKFUL for that. I am thankful for this quiet morning that I can spend thinking about my mama. Thankful I got to go spend time with my seester yesterday. Thankful that I get to spend a quiet day with my guys just lounging around and eating. Thankful for every single breath here. Not taking this day or any others for granted. I know my time here is short(as in finite). I want to eek every single drop of joy, love, passion, hope, laughter, peace, friendship, steadfastness, peace, and every good thing from every single day that I am here.

Thankful 2014...

    Today I am thankful for, never being too old to play dress up. I mean come on! Who doesn't LOVE to still play dress up??? I am only a few weeks shy of 33 and I can say it looks good on me. I am appreciating more and more growing older. I will take every grey hair, every wrinkle as proof that I was here and LIVED. Life is messy, there will always be evidence of that mess. I am just going to be thankful that I was gifted this many years to live it out loud. No holding back, no apologies, no shame, no guilt, no judgement. Just me, being goofy and having fun at any age.

     This month I am sporting pink hair in honor of my girl who is fighting her hardest battle yet.  Breast Cancer.  And to honor all those who have fought and won and for those who fought and are no longer with us.
